“Youth Advocacy Movement” “YAM St. Lucia” for short, was founding in July 1998 by a decision taken at IPPF-WHR Annual General Meeting in Puerto Rico.  YAM remains an important element of SLPPA’s youth work on the island. To maintain our programs we conduct a number of fundraising activities, and in addition, seek funding through project proposals from donor agencies.   However, if you wish to make a donation please feel free to contact us.

Persons who are interested in joining YAM should be within the age range of 10 to 25 years. They are obligated to attend a minimum of 10 meetings per quarter. After the probation period a payment of $15 for registration is required to become a fully -fledged member.

YAM engages in a lot of educational activities with a focus on sexual reproductive health.  The activities take many forms such as regular group meetings, training sessions, outreach programs and recreational activities. YAM can also be considered as a support group for youth.
